Install STANDARD, PLUS or WhatsApp


Please follow below steps to install STANDARD, PLUS or WhatsApp version

Step A: Install Package

Click respective link to install at destination org. (This step generally takes up to 5 mins).

Production –

Sandbox –

Click on Done button when “taking a longer time to install” message appears on your screen and refresh “installed package” page to see installed package ValueText.

Important Note: Enable "Remote site settings" after installation completed. Salesforce > setup > search with remote site settings > edit "VtRestUrl" ( and activate


Step B: Complete setup after the installation

For lightning view: Login to Salesforce > App Launcher on left side top> ValueText  >  ValueText Setup

For classic view:  Login to Salesforce > App menu on right side top > ValueText > ValueText Setup


Step 1: Select the country you would like to send text messages from the drop down “Country to send messages”.

Click on update button to save your changes.

Step 2:

Please provide values to all mandatory fields like Full Name, Email, User name (User name must be email type) and Country.

Signup or Sign in

Click on “Update” button.

You will receive an email to verify and set your password, please check your email inbox to complete the step.

Step 3:

Your email verification must be completed before this step.

Click on “Generate / Refresh secret” button.

Now you see your balance at 1 USD at step 1 to send few test messages to your phone number.

Step 4:

This step is required to receive incoming messages.

Enable oAuth

If you installed the package at production just click on “Enable OAuth for production” and for sandbox click on “Enable OAuth for Sandbox”

It will navigate to the sign-in page of respective sandbox or production and then to a different window to “Allow” access.Now it will redirect to login page to authenticate your account.

Enter ValueText’s User name and password for sign in.It will redirect to enable OAuth page, click on “enable outh button”

Step 5: Channel preference (Skip this step if you would like to send SMS only)

For sending WhatsApp text messages from Salesforce, Please configure your settings as shown in below capture and click on save/Update.

Step D: Verify your number for testing: (This step is required only in TRIAL version)

Currently you are using TRIAL version where you can send text messages only to your number (Trusted Numbers).

You are required to verify your numbers at > Trusted Number tab > Select country and enter the phone number without country code.

Now click on the Verify button to get the code at your WhatsApp or SMS.

Important Note: This step is required only in TRIAL version. Once you upgrade to FULL version you can send text to any number without verification.

Step F: Set up component on to contact:

SETUP for lightning:

Go to contact record > gear symbol >  “Edit Page” on right side top > at left side at “custom component section” drag “ChatWindowWhatsAppAndSMS” to the section where ever you want.

SETUP for Classic:

For Lightning: Salesforce > setup > object manager > contact > Page layout > choose the layout which you want to edit.

For Classic view:  Salesforce > setup > customize >  contact > Page layout > choose the layout which you want to edit.

Drag “Send Text” button from Button section and drop to the respective section.


Drag “Send Text” from “Mobile & Lightning Action” and drop at “Quick Actions in the Salesforce Classic Publisher”

Related List setup:

Drag “Message Bucket” from “Related List” and drop at “Related Lists” section.

Layout 2

Save it and do the same process for other page layouts if you want to set access for all.


Step G:  Now you are ready to send and receive text messages from salesforce!

Go and pick any contact record where you have set up above components with contact layout.

Click on “Send Text” button or use the lightning component to send a text message.

In trial version you have to use the same sender id which comes with the package.

If you’re testing WhatsApp, just use the “First Template” from template dropdown. “Approved Template” is approved by WhatsApp.  After you receive message just reply something from your WhatsApp to activate the session.

Now you can see all messages at “Message Bucket” related list of the record which you used for testing.
